VASAKHI is COMING!

Yes yes I realise the overexcited expression. What to do what to do.
NO, it most certainly is not the first time I am away from home during Vasakhi and as so it does not feel any different. Although if I were home, by this time days would be filled with IYC euphoria, planning for D-Day and whatnot.

Well last year was lovely, and this year I am not home. The IYC Vasakhi Grand Event has just ended and folk are enthusing all about the excellent lineup and of course, the feel that programs like such have. To answer your question, no, I do not watch the live streamings. Never have. WHY??!!

I suppose there could be multiple reasons (sometimes time difference) but mainly, the disconnect (and despite that, or maybe due to it), the connect and melancholy. At this point, after being away in uni I have missed countless programs, so it really doesn't bother me anymore. I used to enjoy whatever I could whilst home. This time around its a bonus as well since there actually are Gurdwaras here! Jackpot haha. So I will indeed be enjoying live. Ah but wait.. Someone has sent me some videos.. So maybe I will be then ;)
Enough on that, lets move on.

Well today I officially started the countdown! Bought myself a new duvet cover and feeling all good and sunny and cheery inside haha. No new suit this year but then again I am not fussy. Shall get a good dose when I go home (yes mum thank you very much).

(ignore the crumplisation- caah vich not ironed haha - and yes, the sheets are also pink muaahhaha)
Since I also have great friends we may have a little do as well, lets see how that goes.

Also in the spirit of Vasakhi I am thinking of watching an out and out Punjabi movie (or two) haha!
In terms of Punjabi movies, I am definitely more the Nanak Naam Jahaz Hai to Sat Sri Akal type and dont really do the Munde UK De and you know, stuff like that. (Canedda and London seems to be involved quite abit haha)

Having said that, I have and do watch the odd ones and the most recent one I watched was prolly Jatt and Juliet (forced by sister, but I quite enjoyed it!) So yes, I think I shall try to watch one of these (haha semangat waja much?)

Yes its time to visit the awesome Little India-esque area in town and get a dose of barfi/gulab jamun/ samoooosaaaay and see what else is going on :)

Write soon, love.
